Before I go to bed at night, I look at photos of a small German town called Duisburg.
I wish to have dreams of this town.
For what reason, I'm not sure. I saw these photos and now I have visions and I long to create another world.
And in my visions, I place dinasaurs sculptures outside in the snow.
Wouldn't that be an inspiring site?

There's someone in my head but it's not me...
I feel like Syd Barret today, and that's not the greatest feeling in the world. It's not the drugs, it's the people. Everyone is slowly driving me insane.
My mom is visiting and she is at her most negative state I have ever seen her in.
I don't know how I made it through adolescence thinking the glass is half full.
Maybe I'm an artist to escape.
She finds fault or a problem with everything.
My husband is not thrilled with his job. There is no love at the office. I can't blame him. He's as sensitive as I am.
I've been listening to Yann Tiersen. At least I have a nice French soundtrack to my breakdown.

She's laughing inside...
This has been on my mind for a week or so and I finally have a chance to sit down.
Listening to the radio-I'll clarify-Classical rock radio makes me very sad. And you know why, because everyone is dying. I know we have lost Lennon and George, and Jimi and that whole 60's crew, but this is slowly creeping into my gen x-er life. and In a row, I heard The Cars "Just What I Needed" with Ben Orr singing and then right after that I heard Robert Palmer singing "Simply Irresistable". Then it was Nirvana. Dead. I am a sensitive gal, but why do I have to feel so depressed. Am I looking for excuses?
I always liked Benny, and those strange eyes. He had cancer and died in Atlanta. See isn't that sad.
Palmer had a massive heart attack and died in Paris. His was sudden and well he was in such a wonderful city.
I'd rather not talk about Kurt though. He was the same age as me, and well I'm still looking at Courtney a little differently. If I ruled the world that woman would be locked away.
Now, I really cannot handle listening to Nat King Cole, not even the Christmas songs. My dad was very fond of him and I miss him too much when I hear Nat's voice.

Baby...I've been...breaking glass in your room again
This rain is bringing about some very nasty things. It's like an evil fog. Please just go away. Rain has negative ions in them and thus reacts badly to people, causing everyone to be in such sour puss moods.
My little one broke another glass. Oh yes, and MB, I went straight to Ebay and found a whole set for 2 dollars. Love eBay. And not a moment too soon.
And now for a play called "Get That Thing off my Neck Mommie"
Scene 1-Last night something horrible occurred in the household. I was washing my son's hair, and what did I find? A TICK!!! I don't think I handled it very well. I was in a panic. The little blood sucker was going at it on my son's sweet little neck. I screamed, not good, because then he screamed. He then became terrified of the tweezers I was brandishing.
I removed part of it, before the head thrashing started.
Scene 2-Dad arrives. Mom has to lay on top of toddler while dad tries to remove part of tick still on the neck of our child. There is a lot of screaming and sweating and still not all of the tick is removed.
Scene 3-Doctors office this morning. Same idea. Mom lays on top of son while nurse holds his head while the doctor tries to remove pieces. Most removed, there is a bit left. Now he is taking an antibiotic just in case.
And as a bit of fluff just to liven this whole bloody tick glass filled day...
A new Bond has been picked. Daniel Craig. Who you ask is Daniel Craig. I don't know either. He's so blah and bland that we're all in shock. I screamed. I have been screaming a lot lately. Clive Owen has been robbed. He would have been the PERFECT Bond.

the bats have left the belltower...
First off, we started watching "The Day After Tomorrow" and let me tell you it's freaking me out. All of this rain we've been having, it's like I'm living the movie. I'm expecting by nightfall a blizzard. I almost went out to Home Depot in search of a propane burner so we could have coffee and soup in case of a blackout. Enough with the drastic weather. Jeesh! And don't get me started on the chiken flu...
Secondly-my son and I went off to the mall to look for a present for my sister in-law(no I'm really not that nice and no she does not remember my birthday) and I think every mom and child in North Westchester was at this crummy little mall. And the worst part was that every kid was eating Burger King food. I don't mind on occasion, but I really hate for my son to be into fast food at such a young age. I should know, my dad had a couple of Burger Chef's and I'm still surprised I was not a huge child from all the fries and milkshakes I scarfed.
Now for my strange bit...
Yesterday I had a very strong sense of foreboding. My son was pointing out his dinosaur juice glass and inquiring about his other glasses in the set. My husband said "Your mommy started saving these a long time ago." And he was right. My roommate and I ate an awful lot of grape jelly to collect these glasses, oh about 17 years ago. Well my son loves them and is very capable and careful handling them, even at 3.
At snack time he wanted more apple juice and GIANT goldfish. When my son eats goldfish, he makes them ALL swim into his mouth. He's very theatrical about it
and it's very funny and sweet. Oh well, he was a little too dramatic with his swimming motions and knocked the juice glass off the table. I screamed. AHHHHHHHHEEEEE! Because I usually scream when glass is broken. (I must have gypsy blood in me)
I didn't scold or yell, but I was a little sad that one of these glasses broke, and the fact that I had a bad feeling about it earlier in the day didn't help either.

Scratch the scandals in the twilight...
This should be in the sidebar. Still reading "Breakfast". Went through about 6 mags this weekend. A couple of Dwells, Real Simples and some trendy ones. I felt I accomplished something.
Watched "Finding Neverland" and "The Killing of a Chinese Bookie".
The first one was very good. Great story. And everyone is so bloody charming, the children especially.
The second flick, was a library find and well, Cassavetes directed it and he was a man ahead of his time. This movie is good and strange. Ben Gazzara plays Cosmo a strip club owner in 1970 LA. Check it out. It's worth it, really.
I'm finishing some things up on this very gloomy chilly Monday.
You progress like the rising sun.
The brighter your virtue, the higher you rise.

Lions always hit the heights...
Why is it when you are laying in bed at night your limbs feel like they are concrete?
If you think about moving them, you know you'll never be able to.
Why are Mondays so bad? I have been at home for 5 years now, and still Mondays are painful.
Why do I remember the capitols of countries but I cannot keep track of our own 50 states?
Until I figure out how to control my sidebar, I wanted to tell everyone what I've watched, read, and have been listening to.
We just watched Frida and THX 1138.
Listening to Super Furry Animals"LoveCraft", Love and Rockets, and Tiger Lillies.
Reading "Breakfast of Champions". I could list the 10 other books that are sitting on my side of the bed, but I find it so sad that I have abandoned them.
Which brings me to something in my personality which I didn't realize I do. My husband pointed out to me I abandon desserts. If I have a craving for something, I'll make it. If I get another craving I'll make that, and I will abandon the first dessert. How sad. I realize I do this with all sort of things. I should strive for completion and then move on.

Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down...
First go here. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the year you graduated high school. Bold the songs you loved to hear, italise the ones you hated and red the ones you don't remember.

self portrait tuesday
Good bye Ruby Tuesday, who could hang a name on you...
I was inspired to do this today because I have this book on the table ready to sell. As much as I LOVE these glasses, they do not look like the ones that I wear.

...I'll think I'll dye my hair blue
First off, I have to say I'm on a bit on an upswing at the moment, so we shall all take advantage of it.
Am I manic/depressive? And I would say, aren't most artists, in some way? I just read some bits about poor ole Sylvia Plath...The poor gal should never have been taking pills. Such a brilliant mind, all cluttered with medicine and family issues compounded everything for her. But that is a side note for me today...
Yesterday driving in the car I heard, in a row, Missing Persons, and Van Halen.
That got me thinking, does everyone know what David Lee Roth is up too.
He has been training to be an EMT in New York.
Could you imagine? Some guy laying on a gurney, and here is Mr. Roth trying to tend to bullet wounds and he hears, "Come on Dave, sing, 'I dig those girls...' one time for me." Apparently he wants to be certified so he can volunteer once a month. Aw...isn't he a nice guy.
Now for my other guest celebrity career move.
A couple of weeks ago, we were watching a PBS special about the Roman Empire. Did anyone else catch this?
All of these professors would come on and give their little lectures about whatever intricacies about the Romans that were being discussed. When all of a sudden, who should appear, Mr. Buckaroo Bonzai, that's Professor Bonzai to you. Yes Peter Weller is a professor of Roman and Renaissance art at Syracuse University.
I think I may have to go back to school. It would be like young Harrison Ford as the professor in Indiana Jones. I would be such a good girl and do all my homework, and answer all his questions. How about some extra credit for poor little paintergirl?
