I saw my devil, and I saw my deep blue sea...

This is the painting I sold at the coffehouse. My friends who bought it just gave me the money for it last night, so it's no longer mine. But it's in good hands. It's called the Village and I did after our trip to Amsterdam.

Still no word from the woman about the fundraiser. It surprises me how immature she has been. I'm still designing the poster for myself.

The fundraiser was to raise money and awareness about a medical condition called Fistula. So this is a case where a bunch of richies get together in snobtown and buy art and drink wine and feel great about themselves because they are helping a poor woman in an African country. Someone donated a horse. Sheesh. This is not my crowd.

I love the colours in this painting -- well done for selling it :-D That's very very cool. Funny you sold it at the coffee house -- the colours actually make me think of coffee! Hehe -- maybe that's why I like the colours....!!

Archk! I second everything you say about the woman with the fundraising -- and her kind! Keep us posted on how it goes, please...

Oh I have a whole new post about the fundraiser woman. She sent me an email with the invite by mistake.(I think)

Thank you about the painting. We went over to my friends who bought it-and it looks really nice. They are very dear friends so I'm glad they have it to take care of.

Yeah, it's good that the painting is in good hands and somewhere where it'll be looked after and appreciated [god, imagine if it had ended up at home with the fundraiser woman!].

I hope it goes well with her; though I have my doubts judging from your comment above. But let's not be too pessimistic [a new approach for me for sure!]...

But I GAVE her one. At least it wasn't a painting but still. I can't wait to see the dreadful poster.

Wonderful painting in form, color and design. You would do a great job on the "flower houses" of Truro on the cape. Everything you do appeals to me (at least the ones I've seen)!

Unfortunately, people who should be so kind and thankful for donations from artists sometimes have a chip on their shoulders because they can't make art.

Or worse, they expect you to give away your talent, time and materials just because...

Sometimes I think that unless you charge for something, people do not value it or you...which is exactly the wrong way any fundraiser people should feel.

Hi Mary-So glad you are back. One day I'll make it to P-town. I think I would never want to leave.

I love these earthy colors. Sometimes I get into one color palette and can't stop. Now it's greens.

You are right about charging-it just seems like there is no respect if you donate. It's very frustrating.
