My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon...

I just decided to do I-Ching, because I've been feeling a little blah today.

It always surprises me how accurate I-Ching is.

I received "KU-Work on what has been spoiled"

"Receiving this hexagram is a sign that there is a defect in the attitude of oneself, another or one's society that should be corrected."

"It is likely the problem is an old one, and equally likely that no solution will be immediately evident."

"Whether the fault lies in yourself, another, or your community, the requirement is the same. Watch closely while remaining quiet, innocent and sincere"

I do always have to remember that Buddhist monks, while living in peace, are not having to interact with people from all walks of life on a daily basis. I live in a Western society that does not look upon Eastern religions in a very kind manner. Yet I strive to be peaceful, and raise my son in a peaceful household. Integrating Western and Eastern philosophies will be my life long task.

Me too! I work on the Buddhist philosophy of wanting what you have rather than wanting what you don't have.

Also, I love this one, at night before you go to bed you forgive yourself for anything you did during the day that you felt was hurtful or wrong. Then you forgive anyone who was hurtful to you. I always have no problem with the former but struggle with the latter... Peace!

Wanting what you don't have is very hard in our society, but I'm ready to chuck it all. If we had to get rid of everything, I think I could do it. I might regret years later, but I think our family would do well.

And I agree with you too, it's takes a lot to forgive. You can say it, but to really not harbour any bad or ill feelings really takes a strong person. We can only try MB. Peace to you too, my sister in Connecticut!

It takes a lot to forgive.....but once you really can, it's liberating.
I just try to live each day without regrets and also, doing to others like I want done to me. Sometimes, that's the hardest thing in the world, but accomplished my world feels good!

Your son is lucky to have a mom like you.

acumamakiki-You're right. To live each day is a great idea, but hard when you've grown up in a repressed environment. I'm tring to break that habit.

gothamimage-It's so nice that you have stopped by and recited some Ulysses to me. This is timeless and very meaningful, and I thank you so much for bringing this back to me.

Goddess-I really hope I'm a good mom.
