Here is my drawing that I promised MaryBishop I would do. I left out the cell phone because I don't like talking when driving, but singing... I dedicate my cartoon to my husband who is a master of this style of drawing. I would love to be able to draw like Charles Burns, but I do not have the patience.

Thanks MB and Jeff. I was so inspired by MB's blog but drawing figures for me is always an uncomfortable task. My loves are out-doorsey things, plants, rocks and well architecture.
Nothing else up at the moment-still working on drawings for my paintings.
Any style of architecture in particular?
HEy PG: I studied Architecture and sadly didn't feel like finishing for a degree. Too bad, b/c I loved being a member of the student AIA. So many groovy tours and conferences...fun!

Jeff-really any type that has interesting angles, can be historical or not. I really love temples of all kinds. It's all about the space around the building, the negative space. that's what I find interesting.
Hey LB-Wow-you studied architecture. Very cool! You should go back to school when your youngest is older.

The reason I asked was I too studied Architecture back in the day. I stopped because the burdons of putting myself and my first wife through school got to be too great. I loved art as a kid and always wanted to incorporate it into my life and work. As a young guy I loved contemporary, Not creeping slowly up on middle age I am appreciating work from the victorian era. I like it so much I purchased a victorian farmhouse to restore. We got the original drawings with the house from 1895. Ok thats enough peek at my geek.
Very cool Jeff! I admire architects. It's something that is not in my nature to be, but I love looking at all kinds of buildings. And you bought a victorian farmhouse and you have the original drawings-again-nice! We just bought a colonial 1888 and well it's had siding put on, but the inside has been taken care of. We would love to find an arts and crafts to restore.
Any cool rooms for an art studio in your colonial? My house is really a 3 story. The attic would make a beautiful art studio. It is about 15 feet high to the peaks and you can see the lake on the adjoining property and for miles to the south of the house. We seem to be collecting art and then never displaying it. It is all in the attic. That is a pet peeve of mine.
Ya know-funny you should mention that, but my hubby just built me a super duper easel in the attic. it's GRAND! he planned it all out perfectly and I can't wait to use it. it's just now it's 200 degrees up there and I told him I'll have to paint in my under wear. this of course did not bother him at all.
