Please leave a massage...

My post yesterday upset melvin. I'm sorry. To rectify my horrible sense of humor, I will indeed lighten things up a bit.

A couple of posts back, I mentioned how I hope no one thinks of me when they here "Love Vigilantes" by New Order.

My question to everyone-what song would you like people to think of you when heard?

I'll start off by saying mine would be (no laughing, giggles maybe, but no laughing and definitely no teasing)

So mine would be "The Girl from Ipanema" and Love and Rockets "So Alive".

Total cheese I know.

good one, pg. i think it's original too(?).

i was just worried about your last blog because if you were to be hit by a car (and the butler did it), you could be seriously hurt. plus having the little man with you...it's my worst nightmare. maybe i'm too close.

anyway, i have a bunch of songs i like. but i'll have to go with something funky like 'papa was a rolling stone'. the song doesn't really describe me (i hope), but it is soulful and epic. like myself ;-)

My Funny Valentine..I love the words and love the idea you can be so loved and not perfect at all.

Good question!

melvin! that's a terrible song. I see what you are trying to say, in all it's funk but man..."all he left us was a loan" I'm changing your song. I think of you when I hear many, many songs but you'll always own "Deacon Blues".

*editorial note-I will not change any one else's song. Melvin doesn't always think clearly, and needs my help.

mary!!So nice to see you. What a lovely song. Very timeless, and it could make you laugh or cry.

i know, i wish mine was as classy as mb's. 'deacon blues' is good too. i guess 'homecoming queen' by sparklehorse doesn't count?

Ha ha, it'd have to be 'Global Fascist Police State' by Can't Play, Won't Play. Though, as I could probably count the number of people who've heard it on my fingers, maybe it doesn't count...

That's a really really good question, PainterGirl. I think I'll have to think it over actually -- and get back to you. In my head just now is: The Kinks' You Really Got Me. Though that of course is wishful thinking ;-) Hehehe....

(okay, first of all, Xavier spilled an entire glass of water on my keyboard. So some letters and stuff aren't working.. like the exclamation point. My dear, sweet, overly used point.)

Oh.. what a great question PG. It s hard for me.. there are so many bits and pieces of songs that I feel are a reflection of me.

Liz Phair -Go On Ahead
Sarah Brightnman - Hijo de la Luna
Poe - Spanish Doll

I don't have a list of older classics, as much as soom are loved by me, they don't really fit my life.

I am going to go think of this and come back later.

David, you had to go and pick the most obsure song ever written didn't you?

Melvin-Homecoming Queen?! "I did use up the last box of sparklers
before they went bad
got wet or decayed" I forgot all about Sparklehorse.

Lilly-That's a great one! Well mine is a bit wishful too, I'm not really very tall but both of my songs mention the girl is tall. In my mind I'm a tall girl, when in fact I'm about 5'5.

Rita-The Liz Phair song is so sad. And I looked up the lyrics to Spanish Doll-I like the imagery in that one.
Hey, I hope your keyboard is ok.

Well, this has got me thinking. I think mine has to be "Wild World" by Cat Stevens - Ooooh baby baby it's a wiiild wooorld, it's hard to get just upon a smile...

Deacon Blues - used to love that one - how many years ago? Jeesh, sometimes I feel ancient.

No wonder no-one has heard of David's song - he wrote it and sings (rants?) in it. He'll just have to work out how to put it up on the old blog.

Word verification: qqgnzl. sounds like some acronym involving my country.

Good one but I don't know.....I keep thinking of silly 80's songs that don't sum me up at all.

LOL @ Rose [the David's song-bit].

Oh no no no!! That is terrible news, Melvin [though thanks for the update]. I am so sorry to hear that.
Lots of love, thoughts and support in PG's direction. Take care.

That's dreadful news. Pass on that we're thinking about her eh?
